How to create your own 'system properties' logo/info This is really quite simple, and Maximum PC explained it quite well.. It is a little different in Win9x than WinNT/2000 1. Go to the directory C:\Windows\System (win9x) or C:\WinNT\System32 (WinNT & 2000) 2. While in this directory, create a file called 'OEMINFO.INI' If it's already there, just replace it. Back up the old one if you ever want it back.. heh. 3. Open this file using notepad, wordpad, whatever. 4. Insert the text in the following format [General] Manufacturer=31337 Systems Model=Duron 700@945MHz [Support Information] Line1="" Line2="This is the 31337 computer or something" Line3="" Line4="MarcJ@softhome.net" 5. Save it and your done. Make sure its in your windows/System directory, or if your using NT/2000 in your WinNT/System32 directory. 6. To replace the picture, create a bitmap file no larger than 180(horizontal)x114(vertical), and save it in the same folder as 'OEMLOGO.BMP' If you did all that, you would get something that looks like this. Also it seems that Windows 2000 does not have the 'Support Information button'. Oh no. Im going to cry. ![]() There you go. If you built your pc, why not have it say you did? -Bhunta -09/04/01 |
